DEER ANTLER PENS
PenDesigns.com offers the finest quality deer antler pens that you will find anywhere.  My deer antler pens are available as Deer Antler Ballpoint Pens, Deer Antler Rollerball Pens and Deer Antler Fountain Pens.   I use only the finest fittings for these pens just as for all of my high quality collector-grade pens.   My choice to compliment deer horn is Platinum.   This makes a spectacular presentation!   After turning to my custom shape, I fill any porous areas, then sand to 12,000 grit before polishing with two different compounds.  The final finish, using methods I have developed over the last 12 years is I believe the best that can be attained with a unique material like deer horn. Turning antler is extremely difficult, taking two to three times as long as turning any wood, therefore my antler pens must command a premium over any of my other pens.  The ultimate writing gift - you will not see these in any department store!

Below is a pile of very high quality, naturally shed, deer antler from a Texas ranch that I am currently cutting, drilling, and preparing to turn into world class writing instruments with Platinum fittings!  It takes a relatively fresh and well preserved shed antler to make a high quality antler pen like the ones shown above - and that's the only kind I will make!

Are you a serious pen collector who will use only high quality fountain pens?   You may choose ITEM#85 (antler rollerball) then simply add the fountain pen tip (rollerball upgrade kit) listed here. I'll replace the rollerball tip with the fountain pen tip. Tip will ship "dry" so you will ink it for the first time!  It's only $65 additional, and includes a solid 14k "585" medium nib, a bulk ink pump, and starter "international" type cartridge.  Extra cartridges are available at Staples Office Supply as "Allwrite #8004-32"  
These solid 14k nibs simply glide over the page with no pressure, and are vastly superior to cheaper "Iridium tipped" steel nibs.  They are hand made by a German manufacturer who makes 80% of the 14k nibs used by the major pen manufacturers.  The nib is the most important part of a fountain pen, so it pays to get the very best!
